Man survives gun attack in Paracelis, Mt. Province

Paracelis, Mt. Province – A government employee in Paracelis was spared from further harm after his vehicle was sprayed with bullets by still unidentified men on Saturday afternoon, May 10, in Barangay Butigue, Paracelis.

 

Initial investigation of the police uncovered that the victim was inside his Toyota Hilux around 4:13 p.m. when unidentified gunmen – one with a long firearm and the other armed with a handgun – alighted from a car and fired at the victim’s vehicle several times.


Fortunately, no bullets pierced through the victim, who was only injured on his back and right hand by shrapnel.

 

Responding authorities later recovered fired cartridge cases of an M16 rifle, fired cartridge cases of a caliber .45, deformed slugs of a caliber .45, and a fired cartridge case of a 9mm pistol at the crime scene.

 

The Mountain Province Police Provincial Office, in a statement, relayed that its personnel are currently investigating the shooting incident.

 

“The MPPPO is treating this case with utmost seriousness and is actively working to determine the motive and identify the perpetrators. The public is urged to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information,” the MPPPO wrote.
