Going out of her comfort zone and taking one of the biggest steps in her life led Eureeka Fame Daladag to the much-sought crown in their town, the Miss Tanudan.

Eureeka, a resident of Barangay Dacalan, was one of the 16 ladies who competed for the Miss Tanudan 2025 crown. She eventually took home the title on June 23 at the Open Gymnasium in Banagao, Poblacion.

Talking to GURU Press Cordillera, the 19-year-old nursing student shared it was her first time joining a beauty pageant and that she was convinced to try the pageantry because she wanted to step out of her shell and go out of her comfort zone.

“I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and grow, not just as an individual but as someone who could carry the voice of my community. I saw this pageant as a platform to celebrate our culture and promote my advocacy for health empowerment through education,” she expressed.

Being a neophyte, Eureeka dedicated more time to practice her walk, the choreography of presentations she was involved in, and every category of the competition with ‘love and discipline’. Beyond the physical preparation, she also took the moment to reflect on her purpose to fully embrace her role in representing Dacalan with confidence.

While the 19-year-old beauty exerted much effort to improve and ready herself, she still faced criticisms and unkind words. She admitted to have been affected by them, but instead of wallowing, she used the criticisms as motivation to train harder for the competition.

“My journey to winning this crown was never easy. As a first-timer in a municipal pageant, I faced a lot of doubts and criticisms. But instead of letting those words break me, I used them as fuel to improve myself, to train harder, and to stand taller,” she shared.

Now that she has the Miss Tanudan 2025 crown, Eureeka wants to pursue her advocacy on health empowerment through educating individuals particularly in remote areas in Tanudan about maintaining good health.

“I believe that by educating people about their health, especially those in rural communities, we empower them to make informed decisions, break harmful misconceptions, and build a healthier future for our community,” the newly-crowned Miss Tanudan conveyed.
