Balbalan opens application for ‘Miss Balbalan' pageant

Balbalan, Kalinga – The local government unit of Balbalan is now accepting applicants for the search for Miss Balbalan 2023.

Said pageant is one of the main highlights of the Manchatchatong Festival of the municipality to be celebrated this March.

"Manchatchatong" is a term by Balbalan locals which means the general populace of the municipality come together in one place. This helps in strengthening the community’s spirit, participation, and love for their municipality.

With said beauty and brain contest, Balbalan LGU invites all aspiring beauty queens from the 14 barangays who passed the general requirements to come forth prior to the screening process.

January 31, 2023 is the deadline for submission of the application.

Qualifications and Requirements

The contest is open to ladies 18 to 23 years old, 5’4, single, with good moral attributes, and possessing beauty and a fit body figure. The applicant must be a resident of the municipality and understand the Balbalan dialect.

Requirements are original or photocopy of birth certificate and certificate of residency or indigency certifying affiliation of any of the Balbalan tribes.

When the requirements are complete, they may submit them at the Municipal Tourism Office in Barangay Salegseg.

Upon checking the requirements, vital statistics and height measurements will also be conducted onsite.

The qualifiers of said pageant will be announced immediately following the screening process.

Timeline of the pageant

The selected candidates will have an official photoshoot on February 4-5 while the pre-pageant will be on February 25.

Meantime, the coronation night will take off on March 3, 2023.
