Unopposed Santa Marcela Mayor Martinez thanked her people for their trust and support, vows better public service

Santa Marcela, Apayao - Incumbent and third-term Santa Marcela Mayor Evelyn Barsatan Martinez, in her recent rally, thanked her people as no challengers have filed to run against her in the mayoral race and vowed to provide better public service.

 

This is the second time Mayor Martinez will complete a three-year term as the Local Chief Executive of said town.

 

Martinez first served as Sangguniang Bayan in Santa Marcela for 6 years from 1992 to 1998 and became the Municipal Vice Mayor in 1998 until 2001. She won as the municipal Mayor in 2001 and sustained her mayoral position for three consecutive terms until 2010. Due to the three-consecutive term limit as the Mayor, she once again served as the Vice-Mayor for 9 years from 2010 to 2019. From 2019 until present, Martinez has been the concurrent Mayor of Santa Marcela.

 

In her statement, Martinez said she is grateful for the people’s support and trust in her governance. She promised to continue serving the people of Santa Marcela for her final term by advancing the good governance projects and programs that have been initiated during her administration for the past six years.

 

“Agyaman nak unay iti suporta ken talek dagiti tattao iti Santa Marcela, Itultuloy tayo ti legasiya ti napintas a panagserbi para kadagiti umili babaen ti panangnayun ken panangparang-ay kadagiti narugyan tayon a programa ken proyekto iti lugar tayo,’’ she said.

 

Vice Mayor aspirant Rolly Guiang, likewise, is seeking reelection unopposed.

 

Meantime, candidates for councilors which include Era Alegre(LAKAS), Emely Aman (NPC), William Arafiles(IND), Montano Armas(LAKAS), Jayson Calban(NPC), Peter Jun Garde(LAKAS), Rizza Guiang(NPC), Esther Guillermo(LAKAS),Joe Guillermo(NPC),Maki Julian(NPC), Rodan Pascua(LAKAS), and Domingo Siloran Jr.(LAKAS) will have to battle it out and get the nod of the majority of their people to win a seat at the municipal council.
