Tabuk City, Kalinga – A young iKalinga from Tanudan has brought immense pride to the province after emerging as the Top 1 graduate among the 468 members of the Philippine Navy's Sailor Basic Course (SBC) "Masindapang" Class 76-2026.
ASN Alvin Web A. Alinao of Gang, Tanudan, not only completed the Philippine Navy's rigorous military training but also earned the highest distinction in his class, placing first among all graduates nationwide.
Alinao was among the 43 iKalinga graduates of the Philippine Navy who were recognized by the Provincial Government of Kalinga during its flag-raising ceremony on Monday, July 13, attended by GURU Press Cordillera.
Adding to the province's distinction were three more iKalinga graduates who also ranked among the class's top performers.
ASN Jane O. Angngad PN of Turod, Bulo, Tabuk City, finished Top 5, while ASN Nathalia L. Aya-os PN, also from Turod, Bulo, Tabuk City, placed Top 7. Meanwhile, ASN Judy Faith A. Tillao PN of San Pablo, Lacnog West, Tabuk City, ranked Top 61.
During the ceremony, Governor James S. Edduba congratulated the new sailors for bringing honor to Kalinga and reminded them to uphold the province's cherished values of "paniyaw," "ngilin," and "bain" as they embark on their military careers.
The governor also encouraged them to preserve the strong reputation that Kalinga's uniformed personnel have built over the years, noting that officials in various national government agencies consistently express high regard and respect for military and law enforcement personnel from the province.

With another batch of military graduates, Kalinga once again reinforces its reputation as one of the country's reliable sources of disciplined and dedicated uniformed personnel.
The achievements of these new sailors, according to Edduba, reflect not only their determination and resilience but also the values instilled by their families and communities.
The grit, discipline, and strong work ethic long associated with iKalingas continue to inspire many young people from the province to persevere through the demanding training required to become members of the country's uniformed services.
