Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor James S. Edduba urged newly graduated iKalinga officers of the Philippine Army and Philippine Navy to uphold the respected reputation that Kalinga's uniformed personnel have earned through years of dedicated, disciplined, and honorable service to the nation.
Edduba delivered the message during the recognition of the new military officers on Monday, July 13, at the Kalinga Sports Complex, held in conjunction with the Provincial Government's weekly flag-raising ceremony.
The governor first extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly commissioned iKalinga uniformed personnel for reaching a significant milestone, emphasizing that their success was not achieved alone but through the unwavering support of the people who believed in and guided them throughout their journey.
He reminded the officers to remain grateful to those who served as their foundation and source of inspiration in pursuing their aspirations.
"To our newly graduated officers of the Philippine Army and Philippine Navy, congratulations… Nu anya man dagijay acchievement yo tata ket saan laeng nga personal wenno on your own dayta. The provincial chief executive then shared that, through his interactions with various national government offices over the years, he has consistently observed the high regard accorded to uniformed personnel from the Cordillera, particularly those from Kalinga.
He urged the new officers to preserve and further strengthen the reputation established by the generations of iKalinga soldiers and sailors who came before them.
"Kayat ko met nga inconfirm kanyayo wenno kayat ko ipakaamo kanyayo yo nga kanyak nga nagapo iti makipolpolapol ti national offices, ket always ngay nga dakkel ti respeto da kadagiti uniformed personnel nga agapo iti Cordillera, especially ti probinsya ti Kalinga, and I'm very proud nga kasjay iti panakaaamo da iti amin nga uniformed personnel nga agapo ti Kalinga. Edduba further emphasized that while the new officers now wear the uniform of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, they also carry the name and identity of Kalinga. Wherever they are assigned, he said, they serve not only as defenders of the nation but also as ambassadors of the province and its people.
The newly commissioned iKalinga officers are expected to assume their respective assignments in the Philippine Army and Philippine Navy, joining the growing number of fellow iKalingas who continue to earn the respect of their peers through professionalism, discipline, and dedicated public service.
