Baguio City, Philippines – A collision between a motorcycle and a Toyota Innova wagon taxi on the evening of Monday, July 11 at the Romulo Drive, Baguio City resulted to the death of an 18-year-old student.

His remains were already brought home in Itogon, Benguet.

He was said to have died at the scene while his back rider, a 17-year-old, was injured and currently undergoing medication at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.

The motorcycle they were riding came from Pacdal Circle heading to the Bua Itogon Road when they met the tragic accident.

Police report said the motorcycle slithered on the slippery road – a result of the heavy rains, causing the rider to lose control of the motorcycle and hit the taxi which was on the other side of the road.

The taxi was driven by a 59-year-old man residing in Santo Rosario, Campo Sioco, Baguio City.

Authorities said the taxi sustained heavy damage, particularly on its front part and bumper.
