26-yr.-old cop in Cagayan arrested for possessing illegal drugs

Solana, Cagayan – Being a speaker in some educational campaigns against illegal drugs, a 26-year-old policeman was expected to ‘walk the talk’.

However, it was known he was unable to perform what he was expected to do after he was arrested 12 a.m. on Friday, May 3, for possessing suspected shabu.

In an on-the-spot inspection made by his comrades, four transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu were seized from him, resulting in his arrest.

Reports, however, failed to mention the weight and market value of the supposed illegal substance.

The suspect was hidden by the name, 'Rany', a policeman residing in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

A case for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is now being prepared to be filed against him.

To recall, it was also on April 30 that the Cagayan police were able to apprehend 12 individuals due to their involvement in illegal drugs.

These individuals are from Tuguegarao, Solana, Tuao, Camalaniugan, Abulug, Piat, and Buguey.
