Woman who confides suicide plans to colleagues, found floating along Cagayan river later

Updated: May 9

Cauayan City, Isabela – According to a mental health expert, fifty to 75 percent of all suicides give some warning of their intentions to a friend or family member.

This is exactly what happened to a recent suicide victim in Cauayan City, Isabela.

Accordingly, she told people earlier that she would end her own life but was ignored.

The woman, identified as Evangeline Bautista, 47, killed herself by jumping off the Alicaocao Bridge.

According to police reports obtained by local media, Evangeline told her coworkers many times about her plans to commit suicide.

However, they did not pay attention to what she said, thinking that Evangeline was just joking.

A few days later, Evangeline’s body was found floating along the Cagayan River in Barangay Alicaocao, Cauayan City on May 4, 2024.

At present, further investigations are being conducted by the police to determine what might cause the victim to commit suicide.

Meanwhile, the victim’s families are already convinced that there is no foul play involved in the victim’s death.
