Baguio City cab driver faces charges for taking minor directly to lodge

Baguio City, Philippines – A taxi driver in Baguio City is now in police custody following allegations of bringing a minor into a lodge for inappropriate favors.

The suspect, who was not named, has a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 4 for forcible abduction. This arrest warrant was served by the Baguio City police to the accused on May 2, 2024.

Reports showed that the case was filed against the suspect after he drove his minor passenger to a lodge instead of bringing the girl to her destination.

At said place, the suspect offered assistance to the victim in exchange for inappropriate favors. Fortunately, the minor managed to escape from the taxi driver.

The incident reached the police after the mother of the victim was told about it. This prompted investigation, which resulted in the identification of the suspect and the filing of charges.

The accused was tagged by the BCPO as No. 8 Top Most Wanted Person in the city and No. 2 in the station level for the 2nd quarter of 2024.
