3 dead, 2 wounded in Allangigan Patrol Base shooting in Pinukpuk, Kalinga

Pinukpuk, Kalinga – Three individuals died while two were injured in a shooting incident at the Allangigan Patrol Base in Apatan, Pinukpuk on Tuesday evening, February 17, 2026.

 

The incident happened around 7:47 p.m. with the suspect being identified as a member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxilliary of the Allangigan Patrol Base. The shooting incident resulted into the death of 3 CAFGU members and injuries of two others, as per initial information.

 

The gunman was said to have tried to evade arrest, but the Pinukpuk police managed to locate and corner him on February 18.

 

In a statement, the 103rd Infantry Battalion expressed their sympathies to the grieving family of the victims. They added that the unit is focused on providing immediate support the victims’ kins like financial assistance, psychosocial intervention, and other aid from the government.

 

“Ang pangyayaring ito ay isang malungkot at hindi inaasahang insidente na nakaapekto hindi lamang sa aming hanay kundi pati sa komunidad na aming pinaglilingkuran. Ang mga biktima ay kapwa Pilipino na may iisang layunin, ang mapanatili ang kapayapaan at seguridad sa kanilang nasasakupan,” they wrote.

 

The 103rd Infantry Battalion assured that their unit continues to uphold its duty to protect the people and to sustain the peace order in their area of jurisdiction.

 

Police investigators are still conducting further investigation on the incident.
