17-Year Fugitive: Tabuk farmer arrested for 2005 Homicide

Rizal, Kalinga – A 50-year-old farmer who managed to evade authorities for nearly two decades was finally arrested on March 9, 2026, in San Francisco, Rizal.

 

The suspect, whose name was withheld by the Rizal police, has an outstanding warrant of arrest for homicide issued by the Regional Trial Court, Second Judicial Region, Branch 18, Ilagan City, Isabela, on June 27, 2008.

 

According to police reports, the suspect, together with his brother, stabbed a person multiple times with a sharp instrument on November 10, 2005, in Burgos, Isabela. The attack caused fatal stab wounds to the victim.

 

For 17 years, the accused, a resident of Balong, Tabuk City, evaded arrest – until police tracked him down around 10:30 a.m. on March 9 in Sitio Roque, San Francisco, Rizal. He was apprehended and brought to the Rizal Municipal Police Station for documentation before being turned over to the court that issued his warrant.

 

The suspect’s case carries a bail of P40,000, allowing for temporary release while the case is being heard in court.
