Tabuk City, Kalinga – The realization of the Kalinga Sports Complex reflects what can be achieved when leaders share the same priorities and work hand in hand, according to Governor James Sagmayao Edduba.

With over P148.4 million in funding, the Kalinga Sports Center Multi-Purpose Facilities (Sports Complex) Phase 1 officially commenced following a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, March 10, at the CARAA Grounds.

The initial phase includes the construction of a playing field, a rubberized oval track, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and badminton courts, as well as a water system, powerhouse, and partial completion of the grandstand.

Speaking before stakeholders during the ceremony, Edduba emphasized that the project is the result of continued unity among provincial officials.

“Daytoy ti bunga nu agmaymaysa dagiti leaders tayo ditoy Kalinga. So dagituyen iti makita tayo nga bunga ti kunak nga panagkakadwa, panagmaymaysa ti panpanunot, and pangmaymaysa ti priority. Ta daytoy garud kanayun kunkunak ket ta ada koma makita met ti tatao nga naaramid tayo habang datayo pailang nakatugaw. Dakkel launay nga banag daytoy ti probinsya tayo nga Kalinga,” said Edduba.

Highlighting further results of continued collaboration, Edduba also mentioned other ongoing infrastructure projects in the province, such as the Multi-Purpose Building (Theater) and the Kalinga Cultural Center and Museum, among others.

Broke ground on February 27 at Capitol Hills in Bulanao, Tabuk City, the two projects have a combined cost of P171 million.

Concluding his remarks, Edduba acknowledged that funding limitations remain a major challenge in implementing large-scale projects in the province, hence his appeal for continued unity.

The governor told fellow local officials that when priorities are aligned and efforts coordinated, projects can leave a meaningful and lasting impact on the people.

“Actually, nu pundo laeng ket kurang nga talaga ti pundo ngem araramiden mi met ti kabaelan nga i-maximize daytoy pundo. Sunga itultuloy tayo ti panagmaymaysa ken panagtitinulong,” added the chief executive.
