ONE dead, another injured in Banaue, Ifugao motorcycle accident

Banaue, Ifugao – Two motorists were the subject of a search and rescue operation along Sitio Awan Igid, Viewpoint in Banaue on Monday evening after a tragic accident.

The rescuers found one of the victims down the ravine.

At around 9:45 p.m. on April 13, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 15, 1501st Maneuver Company urgently dispatched its Search and Rescue (SAR) team after being alerted by a concerned citizen about a motorcycle accident in Sitio Awan Igid.

Upon arrival at the scene, the SAR team had to descend into a ravine after learning that one of the two motorists involved in the accident had fallen off the roadside.

Together with volunteer civilians, authorities managed to retrieve the victims despite the challenging terrain.The victims were given initial aid on-site and were transported to Good News Hospital in Poblacion, Banaue.

Unfortunately, one of them was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

RMFB 15, which expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased, reminded motorists to always exercise extreme caution, wear proper safety gear, strictly adhere to traffic regulations, and prioritize safety at all times when on the road.
