Tanudan Drowning Incident: Authorities race against time to save 8-year-old boy

Tanudan, Kalinga – Authorities successfully revived an 8-year-old boy who reportedly drowned while swimming at Tawang Falls in Pangol, Tanudan on Maundy Thursday, April 2.

 

According to the Tanudan Police, responding personnel at the area quickly came to the aid of the boy, who is from Purok 5, Bulanao and was believed to have drowned around 11:45 a.m.

 

It was Police Staff Sergeant Denver Dumagdag of the Tanudan Municipal Police Station who performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the boy, with assistance from personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Health Office (MHO), and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Tanudan, who were also deployed in the area.

After several minutes of resuscitation efforts, authorities were able to revive the boy.

 

He was immediately brought to the Rural Health Unit of Tanudan for further medical intervention. He is now in stable condition and is receiving proper medical care.

 

The Kalinga Provincial Police Office earlier reported that over 200 personnel were deployed in strategic locations across Kalinga, including churches and picnic sites, to ensure public safety during the observance of Holy Week.
