Man in Tabuk City fires gun at cousin during drinking spree

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A bonding among cousins resulted in a shooting incident on Friday night, February 13 in Purok 1, Bulanao.

 

The victim, a 38-year-old farmer, whose name was withheld, was drinking with his cousins when the shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. at the house of their relative.

 

According to the initial police account, the crime occurred when the suspect, one of their cousins, arrived at the scene on his motorcycle and suddenly fired his gun at the victim. The bullet entered through the victim’s right shoulder and exited on his back.

 

The 38-year-old was rushed by his kins to the hospital. He is conscious and now in a stable condition.

 

As the authorities conduct a deeper probe on the incident, the Kalinga police is reminding the public to drink moderately and responsibly to avoid untoward incidents.

 

On the same night in Bulanao, one life was taken due to a vehicular traffic accident along the Provincial Road in Purok Datu. The 21-year-old victim sustained fractured right foot and punctured wound on his left abdominal area.  In spite of efforts to revive him, he succumbed to his injuries.
