Baguio fatal electrocution tragedy claims life of 39-year-old laborer; Co-worker injured but survives

Baguio City, Philippines – Tragedy struck a house under construction in Maxicar Village, Loakan Proper, Baguio City after one construction worker died and another injured due following fatal electrocution from exposed energized wire.


While police withheld their names, the victim was identified as a 39-year-old man and resident of Purok Sadji, Loakan Proper, while the injured worker is a 46-year-old man from Apugan, Loakan.


According to a police report obtained by a local media outlet, the victims, along with their co-workers, had been warned beforehand about a dangling electrical wire near the site before they began working at the building on March 6, 2026.


The two laborers then proceeded with their task of installing metal scaffolding on the third floor of the structure.


While they were positioning the scaffolding, it accidentally came into contact with a high-tension wire line, resulting in their electrocution.


Both workers were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.


Unfortunately, the 39-year-old was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. Meanwhile, the 46-year-old from Apugan survived the incident and is now reportedly in stable condition.


As of this writing, authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
