Aguinaldo employee tops Basic Competency for Local Treasury Exam

Aguinaldo, Ifugao – The municipal government of Aguinaldo under the leadership of Mayor Gaspar Chilagan Jr. was thrilled to announce that its young employee has earned a spot in the Top 10 list of passers in the Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE) held on June 11, 2023.

The BCLTE is intended to establish a roster of eligibles for certain functional positions in government. It is part of the Standardized Examination and Assessment for Local Treasury Service Program of the Department of Finance which is meant to improve the recruitment and selection process in the local treasury service.

Passers of the exam will be conferred Local Treasurer Eligibility, a second-level eligibility appropriate for appointment only to Local Treasurer and Assistant Local Treasurer positions, and to positions under the Financial Services in the civil service, which do not involve practice of profession and are not covered by any Bar/Board or special law.

Out of the 5,626 total number of examinees nationwide, only 1,018 individuals or 18.09 percent passed, the Civil Service Commission earlier announced in a statement.

Achieving an impressive rating of 90.77 percent, Denis Maguiwe Jr. from the Accounting Office of Aguinaldo government placed 7th in the examinations.

He is the lone topnotcher from Cordillera region.

Maguiwe has been an achiever. He graduated cum laude at Saint Mary's University (PH) in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya where he took his accounting degree.

He passed his licensure exam for Certified Public Accountants in 2017 and headed to work and serve with dedication.

Other passers from town - Vina Chilagan, Jezebel Domingo-Lagadan, Judee-ann C. Naila, and Charlene A. Baguan were likewise commended through Aguinaldo Tourism Information Office as their “hard work and dedication have truly paid off.”
