The firetruck, as reported by the Philippine Information Agency—Ifugao, was turned over by the BFP to the Asipulo Fire Station on March 25.

Fitted with advanced firefighting tools, the emergency vehicle is part of the BFP’s modernization program, aimed at providing local fire stations nationwide with advanced firefighting equipment.

The fire truck given to said fire station is capable of carrying 1,000 gallons of water and can discharge up to 3,000 liters of water per minute, enhancing its effectiveness in extinguishing fires.

Aside from its advanced features, it also comes with digital mobile radio, firefighting hoses and nozzles, a foam-generating nozzle featuring alcohol-resistant aqueous film-forming foam, along with an array of firefighting tools and accessories.

With the new fire truck, responding to fire incidents that may occur in the town shall be more effective. While there is no reported data yet on fire incidents in Ifugao in 2025, the BFP-Cordillera reported a significant increase in fire incidents in the region in 2024.

The agency's latest report showed that there were 201 fire incidents in the region from January to March 2024, mostly forest fires, with 113 cases.

Aside from forest fires, the agency also logged 49 grass fires, two vehicular and agricultural fires, four rubbish fires, and 33 structural fires.
