DOH-Cordillera crowns 2023 Sportsfest king and queen

Baguio City, Philippines – Conducted alongside the culmination of Friendship Games 2023 of the health department of Cordillera region on August 10 was the coronation of its new king and queen.

The search for Mr. and Ms. DOH - Cordillera Friendship Games 2023 served as an avenue for strengthening ties among DOH-retained hospitals in the region. Also, it brought out the participants’ creativity, beauty and wit.

Held at Baguio Convention Center this year, the five pairs were determined to prove they are worthy of the titles they are vying for.

Mr. Jofranz Lingbanan of Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital (LHMRH) and Ms. Rhynlyn Palitogen of the DOH - Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center - Mountain Province (DOH-DATRC-MP) emerged victorious and claimed the coveted crowns.

Lingbanan likewise grabbed the Best in Advocacy award.

Alvin Jay Isican of DOH – Cordillera and Meagan Diano of LHMRH were hailed as first runners-up. Isican was named Mr. Photogenic, Best in Cordillera Festival Costume, Best in Sportswear, Best in Evening Gown, and Jems Gown Collection Awardee. Diano also got Best in Evening Gown, Ms. Photogenic, and People Choice Award.

Both Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center’s (BGHMC) bet Carwin Xavier Olivas and Gianne Janiola settled as second runners-up. Olivas received People Choice Award – male category.

Marvito Follo and Chrysler Bayangan, both from Conner District Hospital (CDH); and Noli Franco and Eunice Camille Umayam, both from Far North Luzon General Hospital and Training Center (FNLGHTC), landed as third runners-up and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Bayangan won Best in Cordillera Festival Costume, Best in Sportswear, and Jems Gown Collection Award.

Winners of Duet Singing Contest

Participants from FNLGHTC took the top spot in the Duet Singing Contest which was also held that evening.

Other winners include the DOH-CAR and DOH-DATRC-MP team as first runner-up, BGHMC as second runner-up, CDH as third runner-up, and LHMRH as fourth runner-up, announced DOH – Cordillera.
