Dilag, who belongs to the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1996, is a son of the late retired Provincial Jail Warden Bonifacio Dilag of Pantikian, Balbalan, and retired teacher Remedios Diaz of Mankayan, Benguet. The new regional director was born and raised in Tabuk City, Kalinga.

In this proud moment for iKalingas, one of those who shared their joy in the feat of PBGen. Diaz is from his hometown, Balbalan, led by Mayor Almar Malannag. The local chief executive, through the Municipal LGU’s official page, expressed joy and felicitations to the newly-appointed Cordillera top cop.

“This is proof that we, as sons and daughters of Balbalan, can bring honor and recognition to our municipality by upholding honesty, integrity, and excellence in our respective fields,” Malannag was quoted saying.

Meantime, the change of command ceremony between Peredo and Dilag will be held this July 21.
