Tinglayan, Kalinga – The Municipality of Tinglayan remains peaceful, recording zero crime cases for the first three months of 2026.

Citing a report from the Tinglayan Municipal Police Station during the first-quarter meeting of the Municipal Peace and Order Council, Municipal Administrator Atty. Mark Dave Bang-as said that no crimes against persons and property were recorded from January to March 2026, indicating that the municipality has sustained its peaceful status.

He added that the only concerns in the municipality are the presence of marijuana plantation sites, particularly in Mount Chumanchil, and the conflict between the Butbut and Betwagan communities. The municipal administrator said that among the actions taken to address these issues is seeking assistance from the provincial government and other national line agencies.

Meanwhile, Mayor Charles Abay, in an interview, commended law enforcers, barangay officials, communities, and other stakeholders for their collective efforts, initiatives, and cooperation in keeping Tinglayan a safe place.

“This milestone is the result of the collective efforts of our law enforcement agencies, barangay officials, and the active cooperation of our community. Isu nga agyam-yaman tayo unay kadakuada. Rest assured that we will continue to strengthen our programs to ensure Tinglayan remains a safe and secure place for all,” Abay said.
