TABUK CITY, Kalinga — More than 400 iKalinga public servants traded their office attire for running shoes as they raced in the 126th Philippine Civil Service Fun Run held in Bulanao on September 18.


A total of 458 government employees competed in the 3K, 5K and 10K categories as part of the month-long celebration of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) in Kalinga.


The event, organized by the Provincial Government of Kalinga and the City Government of Tabuk, saw government workers from various offices and national line agencies race toward the finish line at the Capitol Compound in Bulanao.


Governor James S. Edduba congratulated the participants and winners, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good health among government employees.


“Nu saan tayo nasalun-at, saan tayo makatrabaho nga usto. Isunga dapat, bantayan tayo ken kitain tayo ti health tayo,” Edduba said.


The governor stressed that healthy employees are important in delivering quality and effective public service.


Meanwhile, Provincial Human Resource Officer Grace Kidang-Flores thanked the participating offices and employees for their support, noting that the success of the activity was made possible through collaboration.


“Haan kastoy ka-successful iti event tayo since day one nu awan iti collaboration. Let us sustain it until the end,” Flores said.

The top three finishers in each category received cash prizes and tokens during the awarding ceremony.


Board Member Julius “Glenn” Amla also joined the runners, while Governor Edduba was represented at the event by Rev. George Manisem.
