TANUDAN, Kalinga – Tanudan recorded the highest perceived level of nighttime safety in Kalinga, with 100 percent of respondents saying they feel safe or very safe when walking alone at night, according to the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS).

The figure was the highest among all local government units in the province, with Kalinga posting an overall 98.7-percent perception of safety, based on the CBMS data recently turned over by the Philippine Statistics Authority-Kalinga to the Provincial Local Government Unit on September 29, 2026.

Pasil followed Tanudan with 99.9 percent of respondents reporting that they feel safe walking alone at night, while Balbalan, Lubuagan, and Tinglayan each recorded 99.8 percent.

Rizal registered 99.5 percent, followed by Tabuk City with 98.6 percent and Pinukpuk with 97.1 percent.

The CBMS data provides a multidimensional profile of communities, including information on living conditions, poverty, and various vulnerabilities, making the nighttime safety indicator a measure of residents’ perception of security in their communities.

The perception of safety in Tanudan is also consistent with the municipality’s reported crime situation. Its third-quarter crime situation update recorded zero crime incidents during the period, with no identified drug personalities.

Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag said the local government will continue its efforts to maintain peace and order in the municipality, while urging residents, barangay officials, the LGU, and police to sustain their cooperation.

“Itul-tuloy tayo latta dagitoy initiatibo tayo tapnu agtalinaed iti linak ken talna ditoy ili tayo nga Tanudan. Ket dawdawatek latta iti agtul-tuloy nga kooperasyon dagiti umili iti barangay, LGU, ken kapulisan tayo tapnu iti kasta ket agtultuloy nga peaceful iti ili tayo nga dumakkelan dagiti a-annak tayo,” Dagadag said.

The mayor said the goal is to ensure that residents continue to feel safe not only inside their homes but also while going about their daily activities in the municipality.
