Tabuk City, Kalinga – All seven representatives from the Cordillera Administrative Region voted in favor of impeaching Vice President Sara Duterte for the second time.

The seven lawmakers—Caroline Agyao of Kalinga, JB Bernos of Abra, Maximo Dalog of Mountain Province, Mauricio Domogan of Baguio City, Solomon Chungalao of Ifugao, Eleanor Bulut-Begtang of Apayao, and Eric Yap of Benguet—were among the 257 representatives who voted “yes” to impeach the country’s second-highest official.

The impeachment case against Duterte stemmed from allegations involving the misuse of public funds and alleged threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Congressman Domogan, who earlier released a statement regarding his vote, clarified that supporting the impeachment did not mean declaring Duterte guilty, but was part of fulfilling his constitutional duty as a lawmaker.

Domogan described the proceedings leading to the plenary vote, including the committee hearings which the vice president failed to attend and respond to, as “deliberate, methodical, and exhaustive.”

It can be recalled that six Cordillera representatives voted in favor of the impeachment in February 2025, while Congressman Yap was the only lawmaker from the region who voted “no” at that time.

On May 13, amid the dramatic standoff at the Senate, the Articles of Impeachment against Duterte were formally transmitted to the Senate at 7:22 p.m.

Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano later stated that the Senate may convene as an impeachment court on Monday, May 18.
