Tanudan's Bawac old foot bridge rehabilitated

Tanudan, Kalinga – In its desire to ensure the safety of travellers, the local government of this town restored and repaired another old bridge this October.


The bridge is a 15-meter footbridge that was used by the people of Sitio Bawac in Barangay Dupligan for several years, is now aged thus it required rehabilitation to ensure the safety of individuals crossing it.


“Very needed iti rehabilitation na kasi delikado. Baka maiyabot kada matinnag ti magna a tao,” said John Ryan Awingan, Executive Assistant of Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag.

For this reason, P300,000 funding was allotted by the Municipal Local Government Unit of Tanudan through the leadership of mayor Dagadag for the project. Said funding was taken from the 20% economic development fund of the LGU.


The rehabilitation started in September and was completed this October.


In a statement, Mayor Dagadag stressed that he is doing every means to allot and look for funding to realize projects to address the need of the people in Tanudan.


“Amin a makitak ken importante a kailangan ti constituents ko ti Tanudan ket aramidek ta isu ti serbi nga imbutos da tayo. Daytoy a bridge ket nabayagen ngem kasapulan nga ipa-rehabilitate tayo tapnu safe latta iti panagtawid dagiti tattao,” the mayor said.


Last month, the 20-meter Lay-asan hanging bridge was also restored through the 20% development fund of MLGU Tanudan.
