“Ti nagaget, nu agtudu ti balituk, ket makapidut”- Gov. Tubban

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor Ferdinand Tubban lauded the diligence of the workers in Kalinga who persevered to earn a living amidst the challenges brought about by COVID-19 pandemic.

Tubban highlighted the efforts of the workers during the payout of ‘cash for work’ for the 850 recipients of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantage (TUPAD) program of Department of Labor and Employment amounting to a total of P3,325,000.

The governor believes that without their hard work, the TUPAD beneficiaries were not able to earn said salary distributed on January 11 at the Kalinga Astrodome.

“Daytoy ket pinagtrabahuwan yu, kayat na saowen ket nagagaget kayo,” Tubban underscored.

Source of the ‘cash for work’ fund

DOLE-Kalinga Integrated Livelihood Program focal person Lourdes Canseco earlier explained that P1,050,000 of the total fund was from the special project of Senator Imee Marcos. The amount benefitted at least 200 beneficiaries who worked for 15 days and shall receive a salary of P5,250 while the P2,275,000 came from the office of Senator Joel Villanueva which will benefit 650 individuals who worked for 10 days and shall receive P3,500.

Governor Tubban's role

In his message, Regional Director of DOLE-Cordillera, Nathaniel V. Lacambra stressed that it is with the persistence of Governor Tubban in following up the status of the financial assistance that the aid was made possible.

“He has been very active in supporting employment in the province. Ammu yu, gapu dita kinakulit ni Governor Tubban, nagnumar a naisangpet ti grasya ditoy probinsiya ti Kalinga. Kankanayun dak a tawtawagan,” stated Lacambra.

Use the financial assistance for its purpose

After thanking RD Lacambra for backing the financial aid for the province, Tubban challenged the recipients to make good use of their salary such that their hard work will not be wasted.

“Kadatayo amin, nu adda dagitoy nga assistance, ipan tayo amin para ti pamilya tayo, haan a diay saan a nasayaat ta nagrigatan yu dayta,” concluded the governor.
