Tinglayan gears up for Seal of Good Local Governance


Tinglayan, Kalinga – In preparation for the assessment to be conducted later this year by the regional and national validation teams for the Seal of Good Local Governance, a pre-assessment has been conducted for the local government unit of Tinglayan.

 

Conducted annually, the SGLG is an incentive-based program that serves as a prime mover for LGUs to continue working progressively in various governance areas.


When a local government performs excellently in these governance areas, monetary rewards will be given that will be utilized to fund their priority projects.

 

Said areas, as evaluated during the visit of the provincial assessment team led by the Department of Interior and Local Government Unit- Kalinga include financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection and sensitivity, health compliance, and responsiveness. 

 

SGLG also assesses sustainable education, business friendliness and competitiveness, safety, peace, and order, environmental management, tourism, heritage development, culture, and the arts, and youth development.

 

According to Larae Lactao of the municipal government of Tinglayan, this year’s pre-assessment utilized data from last year.

 

Results shall be announced soon as Tinglayan has already concluded its third round of the said evaluation activity.
