Anggacan, Tanudan – More than 100 residents, particularly from Barangay Anggacan and Sitio Pitang in Anggacan Sur, benefited from the Community Consultation and Serbisyo Caravan cum Lumin-Awa Poverty Alleviation Program conducted by the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) on May 13 in Mangali, Tanudan.

The activity forms part of the government’s continuing implementation of the Whole-of-Nation Approach under Executive Order No. 70, which aims to address the root causes of insurgency and bring basic government services closer to communities.

A total of 112 residents from the two barangays availed themselves of the services offered during the caravan, with most beneficiaries receiving free haircuts and medical consultations.

Sixty residents—from children to senior citizens—received free haircuts from personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), while 52 individuals underwent medical consultations conducted by national and local medical personnel.

Other services provided during the activity included circumcision, dental services, and veterinary consultations.

Meanwhile, during the community consultation, residents raised various concerns affecting their communities, particularly urgent needs such as road improvements, footbridges, pavements, and school facilities.

Residents also requested livelihood assistance and additional development programs to help improve income opportunities in the barangay.

Governor James S. Edduba expressed support for the requests, saying that the barangay could serve as the starting point for development assistance. He also assured residents that their concerns were heard and would be acted upon.

“Isu nga inmay kami tapnu uray man kanyayo nga barangay ti pagrugyan na. Addan initial fundings yo and nu man pay anya ti kurang ket mapan kayo idiay munisipyo. Nu haan nga kaya ti munisipyo ket mapan kayo ti province and nu haan latta kaya ti province ket mapan tayo ti last resort tayo, kenni Congresswoman. Ket dagidyay met concerns nga in-raise yo ket nanggeg mi amin,” he said.

With the consultation and serbisyo caravan bringing government services closer to far-flung communities like Anggacan, residents are expected to receive stronger support and more development opportunities in the coming months.
