13 sons of Kalinga among 326 PNPA graduates of “Silang-Paglaom” Class of 2026; now ready to serve and protect

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Thirteen iKalingas are set to serve and protect the people after completing their rigorous four-year journey at the country’s premier public safety institution on March 27, 2026.


The 13 are part of the 326 graduates of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) “Silang-Paglaom” Class of 2026, who graduated at Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda in Silang, Cavite on Friday.


They are PLT Jeli Gail Gumabol Paga from Tabuk City; PLT Mike Riel Casinto Tenay, Tabuk City; PLT Herman Casibi Palawag, Tabuk City; PLT Rhey Steve Banglag Lagasi, Tinglayan; PLT Michael Bawagan Tombali Jr., Tanudan; PLT Clyde Cyril Dagadag Awingan, Tanudan; PLT Reynard Sicyao Aga-id, Tabuk City; PLT Joshua Langkit Tongyofen, Tinglayan; PLT Bruce Dean Cabrera Rivera, Tabuk City; PLT Bryle Conwil Pa-in Osleg, Tinglayan; PLT April Jasmine Basing-at Lagasi, Tinglayan; PLT Shane Patrick Saggob Matnao, Tinglayan; and PLT Joshia Benjamin Odiem Torres from Lubuagan.


Paga, Tenay, and Palawag are set to be assigned at Police Regional Office (PRO) 1; Rhey Lagasi at PRO 4B; Tombali, Awingan, Aga-id, Tongyofen, Rivera, and Osleg at the Special Action Force; April Lagasi at PRO 11; Matnao at the Negros Island Region Police Office; and Torres at PRO 13.


The 13 completed their studies at the PNPA in the presence of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who led the 47th Commencement Exercises and challenged the 326 graduating cadets to uphold zero tolerance for corruption and human rights abuses. Marcos, in his keynote speech, also said there is still room for improvement in the police force despite its improved trust rating in recent years, noting that some individuals remain skeptical of the police.


“Our security is weakened when the hands sworn to protect are tainted. Kaya dapat baguhin natin ito,” he said.
