Tabuk City, Kalinga – A recent drug bust in the city led to the arrest of two suspected big-time drug dealers and the confiscation of P1.3 million worth of illegal drugs this July 30 in Bakras, Bulanao Centro.

Kalinga Police Provincial Director, Police Colonel Davy Vicente Limmong, identified the suspect as a certain Cindy Adawi, resident of Barangay Nambaran, and Saldy Wasigan, resident of Barangay Agbannawag.

Limmong said that the two are suspected to be supplying illegal drugs in Cagayan and other places outside Kalinga. This is why the PDEA in Cagayan coordinated with the Kalinga Police Provincial Office for a joint buy-bust operation.

Operatives arrested the suspects after they were caught selling 10 pieces of alleged dried marijuana bricks with fruiting tops worth P1,320,000 to an undercover operative.

The police and PDEA also confiscated from the two the 55 pieces of P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, a cellular phone, and a motorcycle.

The suspects, along with the confiscated evidence, were brought to PDEA Tuguegarao for examination. Moreover, complaints of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous DRUGS Act of 2002 will be filed against them.
