2 teen-vendors in Tabuk City stabbed by robbers

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Two teenagers who are selling at the Dagupan Public Market in Tabuk City, Kalinga were reportedly stabbed by two unidentified robbers Saturday evening, October 15, 2022.


The victims, 15-year-old and 19-year-old siblings, who were selling lumpia at the public market were sitting in front of their table past 9:00 in the evening when the incident happened.


According to the information obtained by Guru Press Cordillera from the Tabuk City Police Station, the victims recounted that two unidentified men onboard a motorcycle stopped near them. The back rider got down from the vehicle and approached the 15-year-old and suddenly grabbed his cellphone and pointed a knife on his neck.


The suspects were quoted saying, ‘dagi-diay lako yu’.


The 15-year-old was said to have struggled against the suspect with the knife and got wounded.


The 19-year-old tried to help his brother, but he was stabbed in the abdomen.

The unidentified suspects immediately left the crime scene and fled towards the direction of Barangay Casigayan.


As of this writing, the 15-year-old has been discharged from the hospital, while his older brother had to be subjected to surgery after his kidney was hit in the stabbing incident.


Investigation on the case is still in progress.
