26-yr.-old stabs wife in Baguio City after she refuses to show phone messages

Baguio City, Philippines – A 26-year-old man in Baguio City is facing criminal charges after allegedly stabbing his wife during a heated argument over a mobile phone on Thursday afternoon, March 19.


According to police reports, the incident occurred at around 4:55 p.m., shortly after the suspect arrived home under the influence of alcohol.


The confrontation reportedly escalated when the husband, allegedly driven by suspicion, demanded to read his wife’s messages on her cellphone. When she refused, an altercation ensued.


The man then allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked the woman. Fortunately, the victim managed to escape and sought help from a barangay official, who immediately alerted the police.


Responding officers arrested the suspect, who reportedly attempted to flee the scene. Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to the hospital and is now in stable condition.


As of this writing, an investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. The suspect is now facing charges of attempted parricide.


To protect their privacy while the investigation is ongoing, the identities of the individuals involved have not been disclosed by the police.
