Balbalan, Kalinga – After proudly representing her town in Miss Kalinga 2026, reigning Miss Balbalan Shira Mae Alit Acosta is now preparing to pass on the crown as a new queen rises from a field of 14 dashing iBalbalan candidates set to compete on March 24.

The Search for Miss Balbalan 2026 is among the main highlights of the town’s Manchachatong Festival, a celebration that brings together culture, community, and festivity in Balbalan. This year’s festival activities are scheduled from March 18 to 20, with the pageant serving as one of the most anticipated events.

Fourteen young women from different barangays will vie for the much-coveted crown, each carrying the pride and support of their respective communities.

This year’s candidates are Pia Balangui of Poblacion; Stephanie Ann Libnao of Buaya; Jerriza Palangdao of Dao-angan; Yashika Maling of Tawang; Girlie Balangui of Maling; Cristalyn Alunday of Ab-abaan; Jaren May Agyao of Pantikian; Riane Kim Balao-as of Balantoy; Gillian Bangngayon of Mabaca; Cristine Joy Bagwingan of Balbalan Proper; Maureen Kayyang of Talalang; Ernelyn Sagamang of Gawaan; Karel Jane Dipalog of Balbalasang; and Karylle Caymo of Poswoy.

The candidates were formally introduced and sashed by their respective barangay officials during the sashing ceremony held on March 6 at the Municipal Grounds in Poblacion. The event marked the beginning of their journey toward the crown.

Before the much-awaited coronation night, the candidates will also take the spotlight during the pre-pageant on March 13, where they will showcase their talent, poise, and wit—qualities that embody the spirit and beauty of the iBalbalan woman.

Meanwhile, excitement is already building online as the People’s Choice Award voting has officially opened. Supporters may vote for their favorite candidate by reacting to the headshot photos posted on the Balbalan Tourism Facebook page. To participate, voters are required to follow the page before reacting to the photo of their chosen candidate.

As the coronation night draws near, Mayor Almar Malannag invites both iBalbalans and visitors to witness the crowning moment of the next Miss Balbalan, who will carry the town’s pride and represent the beauty, grace, and strength of Balbalan’s women.

The new queen will be crowned on March 24, marking another milestone in the vibrant celebration of the Manchachatong Festival.
