Balbalan, Kalinga – A day after the arrest of 10 identified members of the Ilocos Cordillera Regional Committee (ICRC), the Balbalan police along with other units proceeded to Tarlac City to serve additional warrants of arrest to one of the apprehended suspects.

Withholding the identity of the accused, the Balbalan Municipal Police Station said its personnel travelled to the detention facility of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 3 Provincial Field Unit at Camp Francisco S. Macabulos in Tarlac City on March 12 to serve six counts of attempted homicide to a 56-year-old woman, who is one of the 10 individuals arrested on March 11.

The arrest warrants were issued on April 22, 2022 by Hon. Pascual Dulnuan Kimayong Jr., Presiding Judge of the Municipal Trial Court, Second Judicial Region (Lamut–Kiangan–Tinoc–Asipulo, Ifugao). A P36,000 bail for each count was recommended for her temporary freedom while the said cases are being heard in court.

Balbalan police informed that the warrant was served inside the detention facility where the 56-year-old suspect was informed of her rights.

In a statement, PCapt. Julio Salibad, Balbalan Police Officer-in-Charge, affirmed that the police remains committed to its mission of serving and protecting the community, enforcing the law, and pursuing wanted individuals where ever they may be and no matter how much they try to evade the law.

Meantime, the military said that the 10 individuals including the 56-year-old accused served with additional arrest warrants fled Kalinga to hide from the authorities after the armed encounter in Pinukpuk in November 2025.
