Tabuk City, Kalinga – Department of Education in this city says it is okay for the learners not to get their next modules during the Enhanced Community Quarantine, but have to work overtime after the lockdown is lifted.

Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Irene Angway said that one module is equivalent to one week but with the imposition of ECQ, they had distributed modules good for two weeks.

“Diay inpadistribute tayo gamin idi ket 2 weeks because we are thinking na good for 2 weeks. Now, there are some schools gayam nga nu kitkitan da, awanen nu next week,” she said.

With this, a certain school have already thought of distributing modules for the second week of February, but they coordinated with the barangay for the distribution.

“Naintindihan ko rin naman yung side ng mga educators na hala kasatnu ngay nu awan iti maidistribute da nga module, di awan iti aramiden dagiay ubbing kasla kasjay. Ket tatta nga naground kami nagadu da nakawara dita nga ubbingen nga kasla nga haan nga ECQ,” she said.

Angway said that given the situation and the possibility of extended ECQ in Tabuk City, DepEd personnel shall be flexible, and that they could try other means to distribute the modules such as through online.

“Dapat let’s be very flexible, kung makukuha nila good, kung hindi nila makukuha good pa rin. Pero siyempre yung mga hindi nakakuha mag overtime sila to finish it later,” she said.

“Let’s not enforce… but it is only for those who have the means of getting it but if they cannot get it ‘wag na nilang pilitin,” she added.

Angway further said that this is one among the challenges of the current situation, but she said, what is best for the learners is still the main priority.
