Tabuk City, Kalinga - Tabuk vice mayoral candidate Engineer Ferdinand B. Tubban denied rumors that he was paid to back out of the mayoralty race, saying his decision is out of respect for Mayor Darwin E. Estrañero, whom he worked and had a good relationship with when he was the mayor of the city for three terms.

Tubban, during his talk at his 61st birthday celebration on May 6, said that his decision was the right thing to do, as Estrenero did allow him to serve his full three terms.

According to Tubban, when he served as the mayor of Tabuk City from 2010 to 2019, then-Vice Mayor Estrañero didn’t run against him. With that, Tubban said it’s only right to let Mayor Darwin finish his term, also.

Tubban added he had a strong partnership with the current mayor during his nine years in office, and he wants to keep supporting good governance for the city.

“Didiay ti maysa nga intayo pinanpanunot. Pinagradwar dak met ni Vice Mayor Darwin idi Isuna, vice mayor ko. Three terms met nga han dak nilabanan… Agpakumbaba tayo lattan. One term lang met dayta. Gapo idiay nasayaat nga progprograma mi kanyana for nine years, nagpakumbaba tayo nga apan tayo langen nga bise mayor,” he said.

As for his birthday wish, Tubban simply wants the trust and vote of the Tabukeños.

Held in Dagupan, Tabuk City on said day, the vice mayoral candidate’s birthday event was attended by hundreds of friends, relatives, and fellow political candidates in Kalinga.

Among those politicians are Board Member Aspirant Camilo T. Lammawin, Jr., Vice Governor Aspirant Macoy Diasen, and Tabuk City Councilor aspirants Eduardo Sacayle, Marc Rainier Duguiang, Juan Tomas Duyan, and  Ivan Yannick Bagayao .
