Tanudan, Kalinga – The Municipality of Tanudan has limited Internal Revenue Allotment, but this does not discourage iTanudans like Councilor-aspirant Jomar Durdal to find ways to contribute in the continuing progress of the town.

Durdal, who served as the Executive Assistant to Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag prior to expressing his intent to run for public office in the May 2025 polls, has been sourcing out funds and projects for his ‘kailyans’ since 2019.

Should he get elected on May 12, Durdal intends to use his connections to build more linkages with LGUs and agencies outside Kalinga. This, he said, is beneficial in souring out more fundings and projects for the municipality.

Among the people he already talked with include an official in Manila.

“Ti number one nga plano tayo nu mapagasatan tayo man ti Municipality ti Tanudan ket number one nga aramidek ket agbirukak ti ka-sisterhood ti Tanudan. Actually, katkatungtung ko ni Councilor Lim of Manila,” he shared, adding that this sisterhood will pave way to sharing of resources and programs to the town.

Moreover, one of the agencies he plans to connect with include the Philippine Sports Commission to give further support to the young athletes in Tanudan which he believes will encourage the youth to engage in supports instead of vices.

“Maki-connect tayo ti Philippine Sports Commission tapnu [through] their program ket makadawat tayo ti bassit. Example, dagitoy bola, net. Mabalin tayo ag-propose ken da isuda tapnu agkaroon tayo met ti uray bassit man nga sports fest. Napipigsa iti uubbing tayo idiay ngem talaga nga kurang da lang iti bassit nga training ngay. Ket kayan ti Tanudan nga ag-first place,” he said.

Durdal, meantime, said that the social services and medical assistance he started will continue in his term should he get elected.

“I-continue tayo a nu adda gasat tayo, continue tayo latta dagitoy social services nga talaga ta isu ti kailngan ti umili,” he said.
