After earning the second-highest average in the March 2026 Physician Licensure Examination (PLE), dual topnotcher Alexis Temblique vowed to serve underserved individuals and marginalized communities in the country.

Temblique, an alumnus of Cagayan State University (CSU) and a scholar of the Department of Health (DOH), was named Top 2 of the PLE on April 8—seven years after he ranked Top 1 in the 2019 Physical Therapist Licensure Examination.

Acknowledging his alma mater, CSU, the DOH, and the taxpayers who supported his education as a DOH scholar, Temblique assured that he would join the Doctors to the Barrios (DTTB) Program, which deploys physicians to underserved, remote, or “doctorless” rural areas in the country.

“To Cagayan State University, DOH, and our taxpayers, thank you for giving me the opportunity to become a DOH scholar and the doctor I have always aspired to be. Rest assured that this opportunity will not go to waste, and I will serve as a DTTB to help those who are underserved,” he wrote on Facebook.

The dual topnotcher also recognized his professors, friends, family, and the Creator for His continued guidance throughout his journey, saying, “No words can describe how thankful I am, knowing that everything was taken care of by You.”

Furthermore, Temblique credited his success to his parents, honoring them for their struggles and sacrifices to provide him with what he needed to achieve his aspirations.

“To my parents, thank you for everything. I have watched you struggle, sacrifice, and pour your lives into my future so that I could have more than I ever needed. Your resilience was my silent motivation. This success isn't just mine; it belongs to you. I hope to spend the rest of my career making you as proud as you have made me grateful,” he expressed.
