Pasil, Kalinga - During the District Teachers’ Congress 2021 first held in the municipality of Pasil, the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) in the province Amador Garcia Sr. and Officer-in-charge, Assistant SDS Jerry Ymson applauded the local government’s effort in recognizing the role of teachers in the locality.

Garcia, in his message, underscored that it is with the full support of the LGU headed by Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr. that pushes the teachers to implement quality education programs for the learners.

“We also recognize that without them, we cannot do anything. Malaki ang tulong nila para maisakatuparan natin ang pagkamit sa tinatawag na quality education for our learners because only them can push us to accomplish more for the education of our children,” said the Schools Division Superintendent.

ASDS Ymson, on the other hand, acknowledged that the Department of Education cannot carry out their work alone, “this is the very reason we are thanking our partners from the LGU.”

With the initiative of the local government, 12 retired teachers were given gifts and cakes and were serenaded by the Kalinga Schools Division Office, the teachers, and the students’ band as their tribute to the honorees.

Mayor Malannag likewise expressed gratitude to the ‘selfless service’ of the retirees. Their recognition for their heroism, he committed, will be pushed to be institutionalized in the municipality.

“I am happy and honored to celebrate with you. I am pleased and proud of your dedication, sacrifice, and influence that you displayed during your tenure,” Malannag said in his message to the honorees.

Also present in the event is Provincial Administrator Atty. William Puday Jr.
