Tinglayan, Kalinga – Women’s talents and creativity shone during the municipality-wide Women’s Month celebration in Tinglayan on March 20, 2026, held at the Tribal Peace Hall in the Municipal Compound in Poblacion.

Anchored on the themes “WE Gender Equality, Inclusive Society” and “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas,” women from the 20 barangays of Tinglayan gathered to celebrate empowerment and recognize the contributions of women who have served and transformed the lives of others.

This year’s celebration was highlighted by a Dance Competition and a Got Talent Contest, where participants from the 20 barangays showcased their talents, creativity, and vibrant energy. Barangay Loccong emerged as the winner of the Dance Competition, followed by Poblacion in second place, and Mar-o and Bugnay tying for third place.

In the Got Talent Contest, Poblacion took first place, followed by Loccong in second, and Lubluba in third.

Winners and all participating barangays received prizes and consolation awards from the Tinglayan Municipal Local Government Unit, headed by Mayor Charles Abay, in recognition of their efforts, creativity, and participation in the event.

Meanwhile, Tinglayan officials reaffirmed the Municipal LGU’s continued support for women-centered initiatives that champion the needs of women in the community. Among the officials present during the celebration were Mayor Abay, represented by Samson Ongat, Vice Mayor Alexander Malasi, and members of the Sangguniang Bayan.
