Tabuk City, Kalinga – As part of the province’s annual Bodong Festival, the Kalinga Agro-Tourism Fair is set to open anew from February 12 to 14, 2026, at the Capitol Tourism Park in Bulanao, Tabuk City.

The schedule of the Agro-Tourism Fair was confirmed during recent stakeholder meetings headed by Governor James S. Edduba, as part of the preparations for the 31st Founding Anniversary of Kalinga and the 7th Bodong Festival this February.

Aiming to boost the provincial economy while helping Kalinga farmers and entrepreneurs generate additional income, organizers said the fair will once again feature participants from the seven municipalities and the lone city of Kalinga.

Local farmers, associations, and civil society organizations from Balbalan, Lubuagan, Tanudan, Tinglayan, Pasil, Pinukpuk, Rizal, and Tabuk City will display and sell their agricultural produce and locally made products to the public at their respective booths.

Apart from selling products, the fair will highlight Kalinga’s rich agricultural resources and cultural heritage. Traditional products such as unoy rice, coffee, and woven textiles will be showcased to further promote agri-tourism in the province.

The fair will also serve as a venue to connect local farmers with private groups offering modern farm technologies, including agricultural drones and farm machinery, which could help boost production and income.

Meanwhile, the Pasil Slow Food Community, the first indigenous slow food community in the Philippines, will once again hold its activities alongside the Agro-Tourism Fair. The group will showcase traditional heirloom rice (unoy), local delicacies, and sustainable farming practices.

Both events aim to promote cultural heritage, biodiversity, and economic growth in the province.

According to the Kalinga Information Office, the Bodong Agro-Tourism Fair generated a total of ₱857,457 in sales in 2025, while the Pasil Slow Food Community recorded ₱448,840, bringing the combined sales of the two events to more than ₱1.3 million.

This highlights the importance of the Bodong Agro-Tourism Fair and the Pasil Slow Food activities as vital platforms for local producers, agri-tourism development, and cultural promotion in Kalinga.
