Tabuk City, Kalinga - To improve and speed up implementation of government funded projects and programs in the province, Governor Ferdinand Tubban called the attention of concerned stakeholders especially the contractors directly involved in civil works.

The Office of the Governor initiated the meeting after records showed that most of the projects that were implemented within this first quarter of this year are carry over from the 2020 funded projects which would mean that 2021 funded projects will be extended until 2022.

Governor Tubban, in his message, stressed the need of stricter and better implementation of the projects for the welfare of target beneficiaries.

‘Partners tayo para ti pagsayaatan ti ili tayo nga Kalinga, nangnangruna kadagiti mapan tayo it-ited wennu apan tayo idandanun nga programs and projects para kadagiti kakailyan tayo ket kayat tayo nga diyay ah nasayaat ti panaka-implementar na,’ the governor said.

Seeking solutions rather than finding faults

Issues and concerns raised were discussed including the challenges faced by the contractors and engineers.

During the discussion, Tubban reminded that finding fault is not the aim but rather coming up with concrete solutions to expedite the implementation of carry over projects while maintaining quality of work.

‘Awanen ti pinnabasul nu di ket anya ti aramiden tayo tapnu iti kasta ket at least nasapsapa nga ma-benepisyaran iti pangidanunan tayo iti diyay nga apan tayo idanun nga proyekto,’ Tubban said.

‘Ti dawat ko, kitaen tayo man jay ustu construction firm tayo whether talaga nga nag-comply tayo kadagita nga requirements, most especially your technical people ta han nga rason diyay sub-con, it’s you. Kasapulan nga imonitor tayo tapnu duwa tayo ah, agpa-partner tayo tapnu ti kasta ket diyay goal tayo nga mangited iti nasayaat nga benepisyo para kadagiti kakailyan tayo ket isu ah ti apan tayo ipa-ay,’ he added.

According to the Provincial Planning and Development Office, the consolidated concerns and recommendations of the stakeholders and groups involved will be further discussed to come up with policies to ensure that upcoming projects and programs will be implemented in accordance to their timeline.
