Luna, Apayao – The Cordillera table tennis secondary team are now formed and set to play for the region in the Palarong Pambansa 2024 in Cebu City.
This is after the championship games for said game in the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) Meet 2024 was held on April 17 at the Apayao State College.
For this year, athletes from the Baguio E-Lions, Apayao Eagles, Ifugao Builders, and Benguet Stingers came out victorious and secured a spot in the upcoming Palarong Pambansa.
Having won gold in the secondary boys doubles, Richard Rivera and Mayne Brayenon Arzadon of the Baguio E-Lions will be playing for Cordillera in the national athletic meet.
Rivera and Arzadon will be joined by Jerick Librado of the Abra Stallions and Abel II Prudenciano of Ifugao Builders after winning gold and silver in the singles boys, respectively.
As for the secondary girls, Riane Maurel Lorenzo and Relie Anne Dawisan of the Apayao Eagles won gold in the doubles category; Guia Zate of Baguio E-Lions grabbed the gold in the girls singles; and Leigh Angela Colyong of the Benguet Stingers collected silver in girls singles.
Other medalists in the table tennis secondary doubles during the CARAA Meet 2024 include Brix Jan Siena and Rich Jellicoe Vea of Apayao Eagles, silver; Larius Masayo Cayto and Rick Jr. Tacis of Abra Stallions, bronze; Juliver Balangen and Marfil Jude Dip-as of Benguet Stingers, bronze; Merideth Tambaoan and Yrah Jeanine Polk of Baguio E-Lions, silver; Lady Gwayne Butteh and Angel Ashley Ocomen of Ifugao Builders, bronze; and Tayshaun Comilang and Sethra Bagtila of Benguet Stingers, bronze.
For the singles category: Ivan Olandag of Baguio E-Lions; Howell Mon Taynan of the Benguet Stingers; Precious Arellano, Apayao Eagles; and Divine Love Turqueza of Abra Stallions won bronze medals.
