Ilagan, Isabela – Students in Ilagan who once had to leave the city now have better access to higher education following the inauguration of the City of Ilagan College (CIC) in Barangay Lullutan on May 4, 2026.

The inauguration was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with Adamson University. Under the agreement, the university will provide academic supervision, faculty training, and extension classes, allowing students to complete both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees within the city.

The initiative aims to address the growing need for accessible and affordable tertiary education, particularly for students who previously had to study outside Isabela due to limited local program offerings.

Located beside the City of Ilagan Medical Center, the college is envisioned as a strategic hub for health and professional education.

According to Adamson University President Fr. Daniel Franklin E. Pilario, as cited by the Isabela PIO, the collaboration will initially offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

“We will be offering, together with the CIC, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. That means all the scholars of the City of Ilagan who would like to study nursing can enroll in this collaborative program with AU,” Pilario said.

Meanwhile, the inauguration of the college coincided with the celebration of the city’s 340th founding anniversary, marking another milestone for the City of Ilagan.
