Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) of Kalinga recently issued a reminder to provincial government scholars to renew their scholarships on time and submit complete requirements to avoid delays in receiving their allowances, which are essential for processing their stipends.

The reminder, released on March 25, comes as the second semester of the current school year draws to a close, when students are expected to complete their requirements, including the computation of grades needed for scholarship renewal.

In an interview with Guru Press Cordillera, LYDO staff Julie Ann P. Ollang said the renewal process will begin once students’ grades are fully computed. She emphasized that once final grades are available, scholars should immediately complete and submit their requirements to the office.

Ollang noted that late or incomplete submissions may result in delays in the release of allowances.

“Nu available ton diay grades da, ag-renew da dagus tapnu haan nga ma-forfeit diay allowance da nga maited iti PLGU. Make sure ag-submit da on time and complete requirements. Nu delayed diay panag-renew da, madelay met laeng diay allowance da,” she said.

Ollang also shared that the office has improved its communication strategies with scholars. Previously, announcements were sent through text messages, but this method did not always reach all beneficiaries. The office has since expanded its channels by posting announcements on the Office of the Governor’s Facebook page to reach a wider audience. However, she noted that reminders remain necessary, as many still visit the office without complete documents.

“Thru text kami gamin idi ket adu ti haan nga naka-umay, ket tattan i-post mi ti FB tapnu mas wide ti makakita… Iti renewal mi manen for 2nd sem ket nu adda ti grades da, ta isu iti need mai-submit, so baka nu malpas daytoy nga semester. We will post it naman po,” she added.

Looking ahead, she hinted at the possibility of accommodating additional scholars in the next academic year. However, this will depend on the number of current beneficiaries who are expected to graduate.
