Tabuk City, Kalinga – The provincial government of Kalinga is set to carry out Community-based Renewable Energy Summit tomorrow, February 23, 2022, at Las Vegas Hotel to address challenges of climate change and to promote economic development.

The summit is an upshot of the meeting of the department heads of the Provincial Governor's Office, Provincial Environment Office, and Provincial Planning and Development Office held yesterday afternoon.

Provincial Governor's Office-Information Services, in a press release, reported the summit is part of the strategies of the government to effectively reduce harmful emissions and accelerate the utilization of renewable energy.

This, the office added, is in support to Republic Act No. 9513 or the Renewable Energy Act of 2008.

The said summit is a joint undertaking of the province and the Sibol ng Agham at Teknolohiya (SIBAT).

In addition, there will be a workshop facilitated by SIBAT ‘to come up with solutions to the arising problems, issues, and concerns regarding the LGU's day-to-day operations and maintenance; Tariffication; and Watershed.’
