Kalinga PLGU addresses issues on Covid-19 management; Dep-ed to lend buildings

Tabuk City, Kalinga – To address existing issues regarding Covid-19 management, Provincial Governor Ferdinand Tubban on Wednesday, January 20,2021 during the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force meeting said the Department of Education Kalinga and Tabuk City agreed to lend some of their buildings to localities in need of additional temporary isolation units.

The province as of yesterday recorded a total of 331 Covid-19 active cases, with Tabuk City having the most number, 130 followed by the municipality of Balbalan with 61 active cases. Aside from these active cases, a number of returning residents are also at the isolation units and to cater them, additional facility are being needed.


At present, construction of isolation units in some areas of the province are still ongoing.

The governor informed the body that the provincial government procured five units of ambulance which will then be given to district hospitals in the province.


The ambulances according to him are now being prepared by the supplier saying that, “Madama nga maikabil dagidiay kasapulan nga equipment tapnu fully functional nu mausar. Let us pray nga malpasen, and maideliver as soon as possible tapnu mausar nga dagus ti umili.”

Furthermore, the PLGU will also be allocating a budget for the procurement of additional rapid antigen kits. It was decided during the meeting that the the PIATF will be organizing a technical working group which will assess the process of the acquisition and management of procuring Covid-19 vaccines.


Mayors were also urged by the governor to plan and strategize action in order to make sure that protocols and guidelines within their jurisdictions are being observed.

This came out when Tubban learned that Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus is issuing Show Cause Order to barangay captains who are not doing their responsibility in implementing prescribed guidelines in their community.


The latter was then commended by the governor for said action.
