KKDAT, LGBTQIA and PNP Lubuagan mark 27th PCR month with Liga Kontra Droga

Lubuagan, Kalinga – In a bid to push for a drug-free municipality through the participation of the youth, Members of the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual community in Lubuagan joined together for a Liga Kontra Droga on July 13-14 in Poblacion, Lubuagan.


The Liga Kontra Droga is among the activities of the PNP Lubuagan in celebration of the 27th Police Community Relations month in the municipality.

Sports, according to the PNP personnel in Lubuagan, is an effective way of helping the youth have a healthy outlook and improve their social skills while avoiding bad influences that could lead them to drug use.


Jessica Ameling, Non-Uniformed personnel at the Lubuagan Municipal Police Station said that KKDAT members, LGBTQIA community, and the police personnel organized a volleyball sporting event that ran for 2 days.


Ameling explained the activity further strengthened the bond among the youth, the LGBTQIA, and the police in Lubuagan for them to be able to continue initiating programs and implementing more advocacies for the betterment of the community and the youth.


Winners of the event were awarded trophies and cash prizes.

In his message during the closing program, Municipal Administrator James Tagaotao expressed support for sports activities, encouraging the participants, especially the youth, to continue developing their skills in sports.


He likewise asked the participants to keep supporting and participating in government programs and events.
