Late night karaoke leads to hacking of two siblings in Cauayan City

Isabela, Philippines – An overnight karaoke session in Cauayan City sparked a neighborhood commotion, resulting in the hacking of two siblings on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Initial investigation by the Cauayan City Police, as cited by local media, revealed that the incident stemmed from a karaoke session involving the two victims and their kin in Barangay District 3. The singing and drinking extended through the night, at a time when residents in the area were already resting.

Amid the gathering, an unidentified individual reportedly threw a stone at the victims’ house. This triggered a commotion among neighbors, including the mothers of the victims and the 37-year-old suspect.

The hacking occurred when the two victims and the suspect became involved in the argument. The 37-year-old suspect was reportedly provoked and allegedly retrieved a bladed weapon, which he used to attack the two victims.

The assault resulted in hacking injuries to the two siblings, who were rushed to the hospital and are now recuperating. The 37-year-old suspect, meanwhile, was taken into custody at the Cauayan City Police Station and may face multiple counts of frustrated homicide.
